DEER HUNTING

At Broxton Bridge Plantation, we provide lasting memories for the serious sportsman. You are afforded full accommodations. The plan is that we provide you with a nice comfortable deer stand in a strategic spot that has been chosen for this purpose. We clear out a shooting lane where you will be able to have a good clear shot. At some times of the year, we have provided corn piles in the shooting lane to ensure your chances of seeing deer.

The big trophy buck that would look great mounted on your wall has attained this status because he is wary and has been seeking the thicker places like our Salkehatchie primitive area to hide in. We probably have the best system in the country to gain access to these areas with eight canals and causeways that we have dug and canoes to transport you in and out and your game out. Jack Smith, editor of Professional Bow Hunters magazine, has stated that, "Broxton Bridge Plantation has some of the best white tail deer hunting that I have ever seen."

You should bring a good flashlight, insect repellent, rain gear, a pair of 7X50 binoculars, and if you wish to hunt the Salkehatchie primitive area, hip boots or chest waders, a good scoped rifle such as 243 or larger as the field shots average 75 to 300 yards. Wooded areas, food plots, and Salkehatchie primitive area shots average 50 to 150 yards.

We have all licenses available in our Pro Shop. We have a conveniently placed shooting range for you to sight in your rifle.

Cost is $150 per person for a 1/2 day hunt or $200 per person for a full day hunt, no meals or rooms included.
