To Our Friends, You are invited back to participate in our eighth annual Battle for Broxton Bridge Re-enactment February 26 - 28, 2010. This reenactor friendly event is hosted by Battery C, 32nd Georgia Artillery and 2nd Georgia Regiment Co D, Burke Sharpshooters and sponsored by Salt-Ketchers Chapter #6, Order of Confederate Rose. This promises to be the biggest and best event ever thanks to your continued support. Living History Day for schoolchildren to tour is Friday, February 26th, beginning at 9 a.m. The battle takes place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Your participation will be greatly appreciated. A blue grass band is scheduled to play for the reenactors at 5:00 p.m. after the battle Saturday. Even though a registration fee is not required, it is necessary for you to pre-register by January 31st. This will enable us to get a head count for the free pig picking for the reenactors on Friday night, the amenities given out on Friday night and for the free Sunday morning full breakfast. Bounties will be paid for the first 12 full-scale artillery pieces and the largest Union infantry unit to pre-register. Hay, water, firewood and the Bath House will be provided for the reenactors. There are also a limited number of sites with water, electricity and sewage @ $30 per night. For the convenience of campers and re-enactors, there is a Bath House on site. There is also a new 10 acre Primitive Area campsite set up for the re-enactors. Your immediate attention to returning the enclosed pre-registration form will be greatly appreciated.
